Expanded Form of a Number By Aashish Gupta  Sir              Class  2               Expanded Form of a Number Expanded form of a number is simply the sum of place value of different digits of a numeral. Place Value of a number = Number × Value of that place Steps : 1. Write given number in place value chart. 2. Write each Digit with its place and put  addition sign. 3. Multiply each Digit with value of the place. 2- Digit Number Example 1. Write the expanded form of 45. 5 is at Ones Place and Value at Ones place is 1 times. 4 is at Tens Place and Value at Tens place is 10 times. So 45 =  4 Tens  +  5 Ones       =  4 × 10   +  5 × 1       =  40    +    5 3 - Digit Number Example 2. Write the expanded form of 618. 8 is at Ones Place and Value at Ones place is 1 times. 1 is at Tens Place and Value at Tens place is 10 times. 6 is at Hundreds Place and Value at Hundreds place is 100 times. So 618  = 6 Hundreds  +  1 Tens   +  8 Ones          =  6 × 100

Increasing / Ascending Numbers & Decreasing / Descending Numbers By Aashish Gupta Sir               Class   2              Increasing & Decreasing Numbers How To Arrange Numbers in increasing order To Arrange numbers in increasing order we arrange from SMALLEST  to   LARGEST To Arrange numbers in decreasing order we arrange from LARGEST   to   SMALLEST Steps to arrange in increasing numbers Example 1 : Arrange   312,  65  ,  208 in increasing order. Step 1 : Put given numbers in  Place Value Chart                H            T          O                3             1          2                               6          5                2             0          8 Step 2 : 65 is a 2-digit numbers but others are 3- digit number.  Formula 1 : We know numbers with less digits are smaller than more digit numbers. So 65 is smallest among the three numbers. Now check remaining numbers for smaller number. Formula 2 : Since 65 is a 2-digit number and others
